Hair the Musical- 40 Years Later!
The green, red and yellow poster depicting a young man with a super-Afro is a key symbol of psychedelic art. Created 40 years ago, the double headed image of "HAiR The American Tribal Love Rock Musical" is resonating more strongly with the youth and young adults of the world today than perhaps ever before.
As reported recently in "USA Today" the New York based trend forecasting think tank, The Trends Research Institute, found something unique in American history, a new generation looking back in time for inspiration... specifically, the 1960's.
From John Lennon, to John Kennedy, nowhere is the list of heroes and icons drawn into sharper focus than the anti-war, peace, freedom and love symbol of the 60's - the play and music of "HAiR".
When asked recently about the resonance and resurgence of this iconic symbol on today's young adults, the plays legendary producer, Michael Butler, answered emphatically, "It isn't coming back, it never left, HAiR's message is more relevant today than it's ever been. Over 11 million people have seen the play, an estimated quarter of a billion have heard the music. It's in dozens of productions around the world as we speak. In fact, a third of all American actors have had some association with HAiR. It's been a force for good for almost four decades."
The HAiR message of peace, love and freedom is available for today's market in the form of authentic HAiR posters and T shirts.
This is the first time in the history of the Musical that this "Double Headed" psychedelic era image has been made available for the public to buy.
The trademark owned by Intrafi has given permission to recreate the exact Broadway Poster as it was 40 years ago. The art lithograph is available at the website.
A part of the proceeds goes to The HAiR Tribes Foundation supporting The Hair Archives and projects related to HAiR tribe members.
